Libbi wakes up to an exciting morning when her story is published in Zmanim. But her joy fades when she realizes that she’s not getting paid for her writing. With the clever help of newspaper editor Borach, she manages to eventually get the newspaper to agree to pay her.
Nuchem spends more and more time with Penina Baumbach and offers to be her partner at the restaurant. He also comforts her when she has trouble making the quality kugel she’s known for. She ultimately sets a boundary in their relationship when she feels things are going too far. Nuchem and Libbi are notified that Yoilish and his family aren’t interested in pursuing the match. In his efforts to help Penina, Nuchem takes Tzviki, her son, for a ride and coaxes him to return to his yeshiva. Nuchem also visits a rich widow and receives payment for jewelry which he claims her late husband purchased for her before his death. Libbi calls Yoilish to ask him about a unique tune she heard him singing. Yoilish reveals that he composed it himself to overcome his difficulties. The episode ends with another conversation between Libbi and Borach, which draws them closer. Borach ponders the uncertainty of life and the meaning of the phrase “to be continued” in stories.
