"Lea Koenig's Loves" is a touching and introspective film that follows the life and career of the legendary Israeli actress Lea Koenig. Through a series of interviews, archival footage, and dramatic reenactments, the film tells the story of Lea's two great loves - the theater and her husband, director and actor Zvi Shtopler.
Zvi played a pivotal role in Lea's rise to fame, encouraging her to pursue her passion for acting and writing and directing plays that showcased her immense talent. However, Lea's dedication to her craft often meant making difficult life choices, including the decision not to have children.
As the film progresses, we see Lea grappling with the blurred boundaries between reality and the stage, as she takes on the role of a woman caring for her sick husband in the play "Three Tall Women" and in real life. Through this powerful metaphor, "Lea Koenig's Loves" explores the fragility of life and the transformative power of love, both on and off the stage.
