Yides happens to run into Shiya Shwartzman, Nuchem’s lawyer, at the supermarket. Shiya asks her on a date, and they go out for a nice dinner.
Meanwhile, Yoilish calls Libbi and tells her that he called off his engagement. He confesses that he feared living alongside a woman like her, who wants to be an author. Libbi says she would’ve given it up for him, but Yoilish wouldn’t want her to give up on her dream.
Penina demands that Nuchem go to a support group for addicts. Otherwise, they’ll have no future together. She claims that he’s addicted to his little scams and frauds. At the first meeting, Nuchem shares a childhood experience – his brother burnt the theater puppets Nuchem created and this was a defining moment in his life.
Libbi lies in bed and hears a beautiful tune. She finds Yoilish singing it in the adjacent yeshiva courtyard while playing an old, small organ.
