Libbi and Borach talk on the phone about the chapter Libbi is supposed to write for the newspaper. Libbi is having trouble writing because of her parents’ situation. Nuchem and Yides are signing their divorce papers in rabbinical court. Afterwards, they go out to eat falafel together and talk about the past.
Yoilish Vermout suddenly shows up at Libbi’s house and tells her that it was his father, not Yoilish himself, who opposed their match. Libbi is angry that Yoilish gave in to his father’s will.
Meanwhile, Penina Baumbach shows up looking for Nuchem, and tells Libbi that Nuchem is suspected of fraud.
The next day, Nuchem arrives at the restaurant and Penina accuses him of stealing and lying, based on what she heard from Vermout. Nuchem admits his deeds and leaves the restaurant.
To get away for a bit, Libbi goes to visit her grandmother, who lives inside Yoilish and Borach’s yeshiva complex. Libbi talks to Borach on the phone. They gaze at each other through the windows—Borach from the yeshiva courtyard and Libbi from her grandmother’s house.
