After the hostel shuts down, Maya accompanies Shlomi back to his Mother's house in the North. She is very suspicious of his stepfather and stepbrother, knowing of their history abusing Shlomi. Her suspicion grows even more when his stepfather – the acting Mayor during election time, is late to meet them. Shlomi, on the other hand, is looking forward to meeting them and ask for their forgiveness. To Maya's surprise, the stepfather does eventually shows up and the re
acquaintance goes well. Shlomi and Maya find it hard to say goodbye and they embrace for the first time. After Maya leaves, Yaakov, his stepbrother, explains to Shlomi that he should disappear for a few days, as to not hurt his stepfather chances at the coming elections. Shlomi is surprised and uncomfortable with the request, but decided to avoid an argument and agrees to it. After spending the day alone, he understands that his family doesn't want him and that they are not planning on letting him return home after the elections. Heartbroken and alone, Shlomi decides to return to prison. He buys drugs and swallow the bag so he can sell it in jail.
