The Good Person

The Good Person

Sharon, a dedicated and ambitious art-house film producer based in Tel Aviv, finds herself teetering on the edge of financial ruin. In a desperate bid to save her career and future, she decides to collaborate with Uzi Silver, a once-renowned film director who has now turned into an Ultra-Orthodox rabbi. Uzi, eager to make his comeback, envisions adapting the epic biblical story of King Saul. However, their partnership is anything but smooth.
From the outset, Uzi's stringent demands and condescending attitude challenge Sharon’s patience and professional integrity. His transformation from a celebrated director to a devout rabbi brings with it a set of orthodox perspectives that clash with Sharon's modern, secular worldview. As Uzi pushes his strict and often unreasonable dictates, Sharon feels more like she is dealing with an adversary than a collaborator.
Sharon's initial drive is purely financial, aiming to secure her future even if it means compromising her deepest passion—cinema. Her single-minded devotion to her career has already cost her personal relationships, and this new project threatens to undermine her principles further. But as the project begins to gain traction, the dynamic between Sharon and Uzi remains strained and contentious.
Just as they start seeing some progress, an unforeseen tragedy strikes, dramatically shifting Sharon's perspective. This moment of crisis forces her to confront the reality that the stakes extend far beyond her financial survival. It’s a poignant journey of self-discovery, where Sharon must reconcile her love for cinema with her personal values, all while navigating the complex and often painful relationship with Uzi.
'The Good Person' is a powerful narrative about ambition, integrity, and the transformative power of art. It explores the intricate dynamics of collaboration between two starkly different individuals and how their shared love for storytelling can transcend profound personal and ideological differences
