Itai Anghel interviews Meirav Tal, who was kidnapped from her home in Nir Oz and was held in a dark room for 53 days. Along with Ada Sagie as a roommate, they were the first women to be kidnapped into Gaza on that dreadful Saturday, October 7. Thanks to Meirav's outspoken personality, she has befriended her captors.
In this piece, she relives the day she was captured, and her experiences in the 53 days she was held under Hamas in the bombarded Gaza. The entire piece is accompanied by touching reenactment illustrations by Lena Guberman, a well-known Israeli artist.
